Oil of dog - Ambrose Bierce, VICTIM OR ACCOMPLICE ?

The tale is about a man that describe when he was child and when he works for his father  at his dog-oil business and also helping his mother with her work taking charge of unwelcome babes. But when his duties for each of his parents were mixed one day, the consequences are terrible and tragic. The story occurs in Otumwee, Boffer Bings is a young man that narrated his different facts when he was a child and when he helps his parents in their jobs .The Boffer's dad had a honest and humble job, his business was about oil of dog, he had many cauldrons with that. For other side, The Boffer's mom has a weird job, she had a small business in a corner, near to the church, taking charge of unwelcome babes. For helping his parents, Boffer Bings was involucrate in tragic situation that finished with the death of his parents and that also change the course of his life, but now the question is, is he victim or accomplice?

I think that the childhood is a definitive stage in a person life, is in where the customs take hold and many aspects are defined in the people's life, and the main guides are the parents because the children's always try and want to be like them parents, making and acting as them, getting back to the tale, I think that Boffer Bings for the great love that he feel to his parents and for being there always helping them, unintentionally he became accomplice of those bad acts, but at the same time he was a victim because he only make it for help his parents without knowing the consequences.

Ambrose Bierce (2014) says “Where these memoirs are written with a heart full of remorse for a heedless act entailing so dismal a commercial disaster".

In all the cultures, all bad and great things that you make always will have a price and a punishment, if you act well, you will be fine but if you act in a bad way, you must wait for a punishment. And the worst punishment of all, are the regrets you have inside you, and it will take you to the total failure.

It has great relationship with the situation that cross many children's and many teenagers in Colombia right now, that grow in places that not only is missing materials things or resources, and worse is missing the warmth which make them feel safe and backed. As consequences of that many teenagers and children’s, follow the bad path of their parents, because they not have something or someone to follow, and them finish as victims or accomplice of Colombia's own society.

to make a conclusion, we can say that the situations narrated by Boffer Bings, is the reality of many children’s and teenagers, that are victims of maltreatment or bad examples of the society in which they live, many times without knowing it will turn in accomplice of a corrupt society that not offer them better options of life and with a justice that forgive all but the only true punishment they have it in their head and in their hearth. All the bad acts bring its consequenses.

THE HANGING STRANGER by Philip k. Dick

In the text " THE HANGING STRANGER" by Philip k. Dick, you may notice a reference to the government, which is the general political leadership or exercise of executive power of the state, for this reason I will make a critique using the current Colombian context.

Policy is the subject on which I'll speak today. Politics is the exercise of power that seeks a transcendent purpose. Promotes citizen participation to possess the ability to distribute and run the power as needed to ensure the common good in society.

During the last years the policy of Colombia has had many shortcomings in education, the loss of values ​​within each family. For this has been criticized too often, society demands to know the truth of the current scourges of the country as violence, poverty, poor distribution of wealth, conformism and corruption. PARAPOLITICA, as it is called the politics of Colombia by the revelation of links between politicians and paramilitary groups (in Colombia are called illegal armed paramilitary groups that are linked to drug trafficking.)

Education in Colombia goes from bad to worse, from primary school to university education because teachers now  fight for money and not for good quality education in the country. This and many other problems already mentioned above do see Colombia as an inferior country from other points of view in different countries.

This dark and harmful situcion who is living Colombia is very unfortunate, because colombian people can not trust either the government itself. On the other hand, the story of Philip k Dick. I really liked becouse it includes among its main issues as government and policy.

To make a critical analysis about the story  "The Child's Story "by Charles Dickens, we must consider the position of the author to write this. Given the reading can be identified that the author's argument is in favor because it speaks to us on the journey that we all take from childhood and carefree and spontaneous youth through adulthood and marriage, and in the golden years. The main idea of ​​this story is to let us know how important it is to live every moment of our lives, and this is what makes the reader wrap more in the story. Some of the resources that use author Charles Dickens to write this is that he try to refer to the reader's emotions, this story is meant to entertain each person who reads making him evaluate his or her life, the other resource used by Dickens was that tried to use logic and reason to influence the perspective or the opinion of a reader, that the reader be identify with the story. Charles Dickens was effective to use these resources as they made the reader is interested increasingly the story, and also make you think too much about the time of childhood, where everything is play and laughter as demonstrated in story, and this will never happen again so you will appreciate every little moment of your life.
To make more reasonable the idea "The Child's story" is a story that talks about the journey that we all take, since we were little children and then spent a carefree youth, also through adulthood and marriage, and our last years of life. With this we realize we have to live our life to a minimum, because there is only one life. This story is very good from the point where it makes us think about everything, of how important  is to know how to live.

The Fish - Anton Chekhov

With the following quote I want to explain the relationship between "THE FISH" and culture of Colombia today.

As stated in the quotation, it is said that old people can not do anything now, just because they are not as young or as skillful, and this is what happens in Colombia, older people are despised  just because they can not do the same things as before. But not in all countries and cultures of the world is like that. In some Asian cultures old people is considered as one emblematic, elders are wise to the culture of Asia, it is the people who longer lived and more wisdom and teachings has.

In North America something  similar happens, the elderly people have very simple work as salespeople in shops, as sellers of tickets, etc.

I think Colombia should be more respectful of these people, and also take the example of Asia and North America.

In conclusion, the different cultures of the world  can't be compare, becouse they are so differents.

And some of these countries should follow these cultures as in the case of Colombia.

A Defenseless Creature - Antón Pávlovich Chéjov

This short story is based on situations that happen in real life, but it could happen in the world in which we live, this is called realistic fiction. The fact in which this story is based is something humorous, as talks about a defenseless old woman who on many times asking money from her husband, but Madame Shtchukin was in the wrong place. The bank employee lets her know on several occasions this to her.
Anton Chejov usually wrote with some humor, does so in a simple and easy way to understand to the reader.
 Summarizing the above type of literature that is used is realistic fiction, and the items it contains would be situations in which the story is based.
